Missions

"...And all the nations on earth will be blessed through you." Genesis 12:3

Throughout Scripture, God pours blessings upon people with the intent that they will in turn be a blessing to others.  As followers of Christ, we desire to share God's blessings with others through serving our Las Vegas community, church and world.  Learn more by exploring the links on this page.

In 2004, Warm Springs adopted an unreached people group in Africa.  Through relationships with local missionary partners and an indigenous believer, we hope to bring the Gospel to these people. The partnership will culminate in planting a viable, indigenous church planting movement among them that can reach the remainder of the people and to translate the Bible into their language.  Steps in this process include discipleship of leaders, teaching literacy and more.

As of the close of 2006, we have sent three teams to our adopted people, funds and materials.  These funds and materials have been primarily used to construct a school in the largest of the villages inhabited by them.  It is projected that this school will open in the Fall of 2007.  Classes will teach literacy in their local language and in the trade language of their country.  It is intended to be a forum to share the Gospel as well.

We have also been able to show the Jesus film in the largest of the three villages and to make an initial contact with another village.  After showing the Jesus film, about 20 people committed their lives to Christ.  These few believers are the first-fruits of God's work.  In addition, the village chief has accepted the Gospel and the work of the missionaries.  The number of believers now approaches 50 people.

God is at work in a mighty way.  Though there is a long road ahead, these initial steps have brought great hope.  Please pray for the completion of the school and for a teacher.  Pray for a man called "E," a pastor that was born and raised in the largest village.  As a young man, he left the village to attend school and there was converted to Christianity.  It is his passion to reach his people.  Ask God to guide "E," direct his steps, provide for his family and heal his migraines.  Lastly, ask God to prepare the young believers for the battles that lie ahead.

Urgent Prayer Update: Please keep our local partner "E" in prayer.  Besides continued struggles with debilitating migraines, his home has been condemned and his car was totaled. In addition, a local partnering church runs a school that has also been condemned.

Note: The name and country of our adopted people group has been omitted.  This has been done in order to protect the work and workers.

At Warm Springs Baptist Church, we believe that those that do not go to serve as missionaries should send missionaries; therefore, our congregation supports missionaries serving around the world.  Though our support spreads to many, there are a few missionaries that have been sent out from our church.  Learn more about their ministries, fields and lives below.  Learn more about sending these missionaries by contacting us at 361-7070 or emailing us by clicking here.

James, Kelly, William, Zachary & Katie Grace

James, former Pastor of Adult Ministries, and Kelly, are being sent by our church to serve with the U.S. Center for World Mission.   The U.S. Center has a vision to help establish a viable indigenous church movement in each of the remaining 10,000 unreached peoples currently untouched by a gospel witness.  Using the best of mission strategy, research, and mobilization tools, the  Masons will labor to awaken students, churches, denominations, and mission agencies to the cause of global evangelism.

James and Kelly are now building their ministry team and raising support.  When their support is raised (est. January '08) they will relocate to the U.S. Center in Pasadena, CA.  They will live there for up to two years before receiving a new assignment.  To learn more about the U.S. Center for World Mission and its work, visit the website at www.uscwm.org.  Please feel free to contact the Masons if you have questions about missions or are interested in becoming a part of their support team. To contact them, email Kendra at kperry@warmsprings.net.

That means reaching as many or more language groups in the next 20 years as have been reached in all of history.
Warm Springs currently supports a missionary serving in Eastern Europe. For more information, please contact Kendra Perry at 361-7070 or visit www.wycliffe.org.

Kevin, Jann and Family

Kevin and Jann Bradford, along with their sons, Joshua (8) and Caleb (5), have been accepted to serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators to serve in Cameroon.  Before heading to Cameroon, they will be spending one year getting linguistics and translation  training.

They originally became interested in serving in Africa when they visited Warm Springs’ adopted unreached people group, the Basek of Equatorial Guinea (EG). Through this trip, Kevin learned from that his computer skills could be very useful in Central Africa.  He plans to create new software tools and to be a consultant for the Bible translators, helping them to utilize the computer tools that are available. Jann has a degree in linguistics and hopes to help out when not home schooling Josh and Caleb.
