Outreach

Serving the community allows for followers of Christ to reengage the community and live out the Gospel.  At Warm Springs, you can become involved in serving the community by joining ministries and events planned and sponsored by the church or by joining the work of another organization.  Ultimately, we desire everyone to serve in some capacity.

For more information on any of these ministries, contact Kendra at 361-7070 or click here to email her.

June - Women's Resource Center
Thursday, June 12 from 12:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Women's Resource Center provides complete, accurate information, free high-sensitivity pregnancy tests, peer counseling and ultrasound services to women and couples who are making decisions about unintended pregnancies. We will serve this ministry by sorting clothing and aiding with the receipt of donations from their baby bottle campaign (a fund-raiser where families fill baby bottles with change).

July - Foster Connect
Saturday, July 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Foster Connect is a ministry that serves foster parents by providing support, clothing and other resources. Warm Springs Baptist will host the quarterly meeting by providing a nice meal, fun activities for the foster children and encouragement to the families.

Commit to one of these projects by contacting Kendra at 361-7070.

FOOD PANTRY
Contact: Ginny at 361-7070
To meet the physical needs of neighbors and members, Warm Springs hosts a small food pantry at the church.  Volunteer during the week by keeping it organized or you can volunteer to help collect food during our quarterly food drive.  Food donations are accepted anytime.

“Holy Father, take care of us,” uttered Curtis, a fourth grader, during his prayer that closed our afternoon at Club Christ. He continued, “Take care of all the people that are here.”

As the volunteers listened to his prayer, they understood the reality of these children lives. Curtis’ prayer asked for protection from violence. While we are aware of troubles facing our city, it transforms our perspective when we hear the violence prayed against by a nine-year-old. In Christ, we are one; therefore, their burdens are our burdens. We had come to teach the children who participate in this after-school tutoring program; instead, the eight WSBC volunteers had become the students.

Although the afternoon at Club Christ simply entailed aiding kids with homework, reading with them and doing a craft project, this apartment turned tutoring center captivated the hearts of the volunteers. “This is what I want to do,” shared Marwood Forte, a 17-year-old volunteer. “I want to be a part of this and be someone they can count on. I want to be there for them.” Other volunteers expressed the same passion for this ministry. The following Monday, four volunteers returned, committed to serve every week at Club Christ.

Part of living the Great Commission is serving in our community. More opportunities to serve at ministries like Club Christ will come in the spring. We hope that you join us in impacting Las Vegas through acts of meaningful service.
