The
Word
God’s Word is
verbally inspired, absolutely inerrant, infallible, and God breathed. The Bible
is our rule of faith and practice.
God
There
is only one living true God. He is the Creator of all things. He is sovereign,
infinite, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, and perfect in all His
attributes. He eternally exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus the Son
Jesus
the Son of God is coequal, consubstantial, and coeternal with His Father. He
was born from a virgin through the power of God. Jesus is God incarnate, He is
redeemer of humanity, and the ruler over God’s kingdom. He is the only mediator
between God and man. Jesus will return to receive His church at the rapture.
Holy Spirit
The
Holy Spirit is a divine person, eternal, underived, coequal, and consubstantial
with the Father and Son. His mission is to build the church, to convict the
world of sin, to convict the world of righteousness, to sanctify the believer,
to instruct, to regenerate, to indwell in the believer, to redeem the lost, to
empower the believer for service, to distribute spiritual gifts, to judge, to
transform the believer into the image of Christ, to seal the believer until the
day of redemption, and to bring glory to God.
Man
Man
was created by God in His image and likeness. God’s intention in creating man
was for humanity to glorify Him. Adam’s and Eve’s disobedience in the garden
brought the loss of innocence, incurred spiritual and physical death,
and forced the wrath of God. Humanity became inherently corrupt and incapable
of choosing or doing good apart from the grace of God. Only through the
redemptive work of Christ on the cross and the grace given by Him can humanity
be saved. This is a work of God and not of man.
Salvation
Salvation
comes through the grace shown to humanity by God through the redemptive work of
Jesus Christ. Humanity cannot earn, work, or gain any type of merit to achieve
salvation. Salvation can be experienced by confessing with the mouth that Jesus
Christ is Lord and to believe with the heart that God raised Him from the dead.
Security of
the Believer
All
the redeemed are kept by God’s divine power, which secures them in Christ
forever.
The Church
The church is made up of all who have placed
their faith in Jesus Christ. Those who have been saved are immediately put into
one united spiritual body: the bride of Christ. Jesus is the head and He has
supreme authority over His church. The designated officers serving under Christ
and over His church are Elders and Deacons. The congregation is called by God
to submit to their leadership knowing that they are lovingly watching over
their souls and will give an account for them. The purpose of the church is to
glorify God, to disciple, to evangelize, to fellowship, to preach God’s Word,
to minister, and to keep the ordinances (Lord’s Supper, and baptism by
immersion). In the end days the church will be raptured by Christ, the
resurrected saints will reign with Him over all the nations for 1,000 years,
Satan will be cast into the Lake of Fire, Christ will judge at the Great White
Throne of Judgment, the unsaved will be cast into the Lake of Fire, and the
saved will enter the eternal state of glory with God.
